I was gagging interest on a turbo kit we will soon be producing…

Check out http://www.tctunerz.com for the teaser Pics. We will be releasing more information within the next couple weeks.

How many people would be interested?

Probably not many if it will cost $10K and yield 20whp

(just making assumptions based on other EMS products)

We are shooting for a 90+ range for a stage 1.

How much are the "other brand" intakes. They do not produce more HP then ours.

You gain 10 WHP off a EMS Intake and Exhaust..Thats more then we can speak for others. And we have dyno slips to prove it.
what is the price range for the turbo kit?

That FMIC looks small... are you using a tubular manifold? Water or Oil Cooled turbo? Ball Bearing turbo? What turbo? How many pounds of boost should it run? What about fuel? will the kit include everything needed to support the turbo as far as fuel goes? Injectors/ pump/ FPR? Blow Off Valve? Boost Controller? And how will it be tuned? Any sort of tuning device? Can the blow off valved be vented... or must it be recirculated? I want more info... but I heard that Apex'i and Greddy are teaming up to make a turbo kit for the tC that will be $2800 and have a much bigger front mount, come with gauges, injectors etc... everything you may need.

give em a break, they are doing a lot of work over there and getting things setup and gauging interests on the turbo... we have seen the reactions to the intake and are working on pricing and style of the intake based on comments posted.

in due time things will come around just right. i say this how many other companies to you see on the route they are going?

if you mention the turbo magazine tC they had... peice of junk, show car... not a real working turbo. ever notice they never posted hp specs??

It is true.
judging by the R&D markup of the EMS intake, i would say that the turbo kit they are developing will be at least $7000.00. Just a thought - t

LOL... I could build my own except for the manifold which my buddy could make... for around $2500 depending on intercoolers, and what turbo i decide on. And at least that way, I know the piping will fit and things like that. And the tC in turbo magazine is really turbo and yes it does run. It put down 226fwhp and 216 lbs of torque at 5,100rpm. I actually bought the magazine... I'll see if I can get my scanner to work so I can prove it.

yeah you could, but then what about ecu and fuel management? sure you could do it yourself and risk messing up your motor, or wait and pay a little more for someone to go through the trial and error stages!

ive seen the car in person and my contacts that helped build the car confirmed that the turbo is not boosting. i have the magazine too and took the first pictures of it that were posted on the net. TRD had the car in their scion booth at IAS where i shot the pictures.
It's nice to know that somebody is working on a turbo kit, but asking people if they would buy it before it's done and was driven at least 50K miles on a test car is just sad.

Build it, test it, show the numbers, show "miles without repairs", then ask if we want to buy it. I personally would not come anywhere near your kit because you don't have a reputation yet (I mean positive reputation).

Even TRD with their full drivetrain warranty does extensive testing before offering the product to the public.

Come on, we are not talking about modding $200 paintball guns here - it's peoples cars, and not all of us are millionaires.
I would be interested. Please contact me when you have more info.
Very well said, zoltiz...

There's also the fact, which I think is implied in what zoltiz said, that adding something like this aftermarket will DEFINITELY void your warranty. That would make me think more than twice before deciding to buy something like this.

Also, is anyone else concerned about the fact that the moderators of scionlife swear that calivortexrcr is a thief and a fraud? Any answer to this, cali?
From my limited experience with turbos and companies making them: Stafford Fabrications waited a year before offering a kit to the Toyota Matrix community. They had a test car with over 60K miles on it by the time the kit became available. That's something I could've considered...

tC market for turbo kits will start to emerge in 2-3 years when people will stop caring about warranty. Till then - do the testing
