i have my kenwood dvd player now and i tried to install it, but i screwed it all up...

i have the factory subwoofer right now and i think, that's what through me off.

the problem:
i can't get audio from the rear speakers or the sub.
no vocal or visual images when a DVD is inserted, only instrumental

i did not install 6 wires, cause i have no idea where they go. i know a copule of them will have no purpose.

1. steering remote contol input
2. reverse sensor wire (for back up camera?)
3. mute wire
4. motor antenna control wire
5. power control wire
6. external amplifier control wire

members with experience in mobile elctronics please help me out here...

Which model do you have? I have the DDX8017. All of those wires I left disconnected except for the power control wire, which is running to the remote wire for my amp.

When I first put in a DVD, it wouldn't display either, then I hit the "F" button on the left side (Under the eject button) and it switched the display correctly.

i for got to mention there are a couple more wires i didn't connect that might make a difference.

2. steering remote control input wire

Oh. Ground the Parking sensor wire to somewhere on the frame. That might get the DVD playing.

Steering remote control wire won't do anything right now. Mine's unhooked.

I think the ones on the kenwood harness were color coded purple. The actual harness wires are white or something. I'll have to look inside my dash.

Did you figure out the rear wires? What color were they?

If you re-drill the screw holes on the stock mounting brackets you can.
