Dent/Paint Chip Removal

Grr. I looked at my car today. The hood has a dent near the front, and a pretty bad scratch/paint chip. It looks like a rock hit it. Hard. There's 2 grooved scratches in the 1 big paint chip area.

Any ideas how to remove the dent and cover the paint area again? I have the NB colored touch up paint from the dealer. Should I just dab that over it?

I know the thread was started a long time ago, but did you find anything to fix the dent?
