Dealer Maintenance Question

General Question..., has anyone gotten their P.C.V. checked out at the dealer and or replaced and if so how much was the labor. Is this something which anyone can check or can it only be changed professionally? My dealer CLAIMED a labor fee of over $200 bux for this and I just want to check this equipment and change or upgrade my air filter to a CAI. any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. thank you

I work at a dealership. Non toyota, but I do know for a fact that CERTAIN emissions parts are covered by a federally madated 8 year 80,000 mile warranty. In case you are curious I work at a Jaguar dealership. We warranty all parts for the(minus the obvious wear items)remainder af the factory warranty, which in our case is 4 year 50,000 miles. But all manufacturers are different. I don't think that the PCV in covered under the federal mandate. That is mostly for item like cats.
Hope this helps.
