Here're are a crapload of photos I took of my custom-overlaid TYC LED tails. Most of the pics can be zoomed in by clicking on them.

Let's start with the full-auto pics I shot yesterday on the go (sorry, no zooms on these):

And here're my shots from this evening; after the first two, you can zoom in:

If you're interested in meeting up with us for the day, just PM me or post here and I will check for your response in the morning (gonna' hit the sack now). BTW, I'm loving those taillights... Is that the Taillight upgrade tweaked? or is it something completely different. Either way... Those look tight! How much $?
You mean his pic or do you mean my car?

His pic those're the stock look of the LED tails. Mine are those tails with custom dual layer overlays.

Those light are off the hook, where did you get them? Did you install them yourself or what?
Lights were ordered from TRD Sparks and delivered to tC 2XIST, who did the custom dual-layer overlays, and then he sent them to me and I installed them myself.

Now I'm not sure

The lights that you have... i.e. the pics you posted, what's the overlays do for the lights? I'm just curious, but how much were they?

do you have some camparison pics? [/b]
Look at my pics, then look at the right image in my signature. The overlays are the vinyl tint applied on top.

Ahhhh... gotcha. They still look nice, even though I am blind, apparently.

Kind of funny thing to hear, given your avatar.

I've been there, it's in San Francisco. There's a Bubba Gump upstairs.

Being a character animator, you gotta love Edna! Brad Bird rules.

I'm really not blind, but I did miss it the first time.

Uh, again, was the overlay expensive?
As far as cosmetics, thats about the only thing that I would do to my car. Maybe the ground effects, but I dont know if it's worth the $995 +install pricetag. We'll see, because it really makes the car look different... I dunno yet.

Honestly, do you think that it's worth it? -what's everyone else's opinion? [/b]
What color's your car? I feel the lip kit looks awesome on silver, but prefer the white without the lip kit. Flint Mica can go either way, since it's more subtle on a car that dark, same for black. I think the Azure Pearl looks better without it, but is also fine with it, and the black cherry would look good either way as well. Silver to me really needs it, and white to me really should do without--again, all just my own opinion.

I think the price is currently at $150 for my exact overlay; remember that mine is two layers, with both layers custom cut. Doing a single layer and easier cut would both reduce the cost.

E -

My car's silver, like yours, only '06. I'm kinda torn either way. I mean, i'd rather spend the money on performance parts that actually work, rather than cosmetics, but we'll see how I feel once I actually have the car in my hands...

10 days - not that I'm counting.

I appreciate all the info - Thanks! Any reason why you went with 2 layers? [/b]
I wanted to be sure that in just about any condition short of really, really strong sunlight, the amber and red did not show, but I wanted the rest of it to look like only one layer, so I had a very exacting first layer cut to cover precisely over the amber and red reflectors/lenses and nothing else, then the second layer covers the entire lamp but with a cutout over the brake LEDs and the backup trapezoid, since I felt it lends it more character, and allows the backup light to remain pure white and the backup LEDs to appear pin-point.

I really wish that little things like that didnt rape your bank account. What do you do for a living, Ed? Whereabouts are you (location)?
Scarsdale, NY (South of White Plains, North of Yonkers, West of New Rochelle, East of Dobbs Ferry and Ardsley) in Southern Westchester.

I work for a financial company, GlobeOp Financial Services. I'm in the OTC Derivatives department and provide trade support and handle settlements for various hedge funds.

... Interesting... Sounds complicated

Between that and helping my dad and his partners with the opening of their new restaurant, I'm kept fairly busy.

Squeezing in these Scion meets into my weekend schedules is most of the fun I get to have.
