Last saturday i had best buy install a new sound system. All alpine, 2 6" type R's in the front, 2 12" type R sub's in the back, 2 V12 amps and cap for the sub's. A new alpine head unit and XM radio. As i'm leaving best buy the CEL is on. I turned around and asked them about it and they have no clue. I end up taking it to toyota service on monday and takes them 2 days to figure out that my ECU is bad. At the moment my car only has 380miles on it I've had it for a bit more then a week. So my big question is could best buy have done something that ruined my ECU?
If so when i get my car back from toyota (at the end of next week)
could this audio set up or something they did cause it to crap out again? Only other mod i have is the twm short shifter and i doubt that could have caused it.

The ECU isn't under warranty if best buy caused it to crap out. That would leave me with the bill. I'd have to go after best buy for the repair costs at that point.

But over all i really like the system. The second amp made all the difference. I need to find a local shop to get a custom set up. Best buy just kind of left the amp and cap just hanging in the trunk. But i went to them for the 4 year warranties on the equip they offer. And you can save $ by just putting the warranty on 1 of each speaker and 1 amp. No reason to get it on all of it they can't prove which is which.

It's now been more then a week and toyota still has my car. But i guess it now has a new MAF sensor and a new ECU! And still has scion tech and the toyota service guys scratching there heads wondering what they are going to replace next
Only thing thats keeping me from losing it is toyota is letting me use a rental and the scion rep's from,i guess california have been keeping up with me on it and have been honest about not knowing whats wrong. Well I'm hoping they have ruled out the sound system causing what ever problem it is.

Toyota has found and fixed the problem and is currently working with best buy's insurance people to get the $1600 bill payed for. In the end it was discovered that one of the audio installers managed to drill a hole through the fire wall and into the brake booster. Best buy says it should be worked out today or monday.
