The law is once you enter a state, you are bound by ALL of their laws. That includes emissions laws... now whether or not a officer will do anything to someone out-of-state is beyond me, so you are better off erring on the side of caution there.Originally posted by bluesciontc@Oct 13 2005, 09:42 AM
What if you arent from Cali. Kind of like if i had NY plates and i had all that stuff done to my car can they still impound my car since it isnt illegal in NY to have stuff like that done to your car? Just a question and wondering cause i might get stationed there one day and i dont want to get rid of my car.
Plus, if you stayed on base you'd be fine since California law doesn't hold there. Then again, I'd never break a law (moving violation or any other) on federal property... generally speaking the punishment is more harsh and the patrolling more strict.
