of course, but it all depends on your budget. before you add any subs, make sure you change the front and rear speakers in your car. They will add more clarity. Id suggest Alpine, dont go with Ma Audio. I was going to but was informed that they were weak. Most people like Alpine because they ofer the best sound for the money. Use Type-R's, and make sure you amp them. After that, I would change your head unit(i changed mine before anything). Its your choice which one you want to get. When all that is said and done, then you can choose your subs. Id pick either Alpine Type-R or Type-X. Just make sure you know how many amps are total between your speakers and subs, because our alternators can only power up to 2000amps. Depending on what subs you get, you may need a different battery or your alternator made tighter.

Ok well here goes....If you want to know theory read.... http://www.bcae1.com/

As far as the cars capabilities, get rid of the stock HU...if you put in new speakers your loose end will be the stock HU...because of the built in EQ.

I generally like 6.5"s for up front, be it 6.5" midbass and a pair of tweets...check my sig for very nice equipment for the price. There not mainstream so you probobly won't recognize them at all, but there nice stuff. Generally if you get any type of quality midbass lets say it'll carry from 50/60hz-2/3k hz and tweeter on up from there.

BTW NY hope your right about the 2000A because i've already gotten a good 200A of aftermarket equipment running on it, but 2000A seems a bit steep.

As far as subs, a single 10 or 12 should be more than enough for virgin ears...
I'd suggest mabey an IDQ 10 or 12, with some kind of amp that does a good 300wrms or so, or get a pair of 10's. My single 15 is more than enough for daily driving and my setup is SQ oriented completely.

But one thing i can't stress enough is to go out and listen before you buy something, just so you know you like it before you purchase it. I can't stress that enough.

If you want real help in the audio scene, i'd really step away from car specific forums and get onto some true audio forums, http://www.soundillusions.net/Forum/index.php?, http://69.5.3.206/forums/, http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/, are the ones that i visit on a regular basis, very knowledgeable people, and they will let you know whats truely best for your dollar......Don't trust anyone but your own ears though. But seriously get out of this forum for audio help, rather stick to true audio forums if you want VERY good help learning and decideding on which way to head. Not that this forum isint good, but you'll learn much more elsewhere for audio specific things.

Hope i helped the least bit.

you can put 6.5" in both front and back with alpmans kit so you don't have to mix and match sizes and trust me it sounds wonderful
