Brake bleeding problems? Sounds like air rushing when I press the brakes?

Hello all,

I think this sounds like a problem with the master cylinder as I've bled all four calipers and can't find air bubbles at all.

I have my phone in my engine bay.

Question is, is there a good way to bleed the master cylinder while still in the engine bay? I have 222k miles on it right now and I'm wondering if the master cylinder is shot. Seems coincidental that this happens when I install two new rear calipers, but I find no bubbles at all when bleeding the rear calipers.

How's your research so far? Sounds like a leak to me.

Yes, it was the Master Cylinder. I feel dumb for being convinced it was something else.

Good to hear you figured it out.
hello everyone. i have a 2010 Scion tc and the identical problem, brake pedel intermittently go all the way down, no braking power.
I am on the 3rd master cylinder, the abs computer module has been replaced and the problem still persists. every mechanic refers to the MC as the problem. Bleed with every repair. I suspect the front passenger brake may be the cause, or a faulty wire harness. I really dont know. Please help!
