Blinking light on driver's window button

Ok, I may be retarded, but hopefully not.

Last night I installed my sub & amp with the piggy back wiring harness for the stock head unit. After I was done, I went driving around to listen to the system. At this point, I noticed the led in the driver's side window button blinking...in a seemingly random fashion (read: it was not a steady blink). The passengers window light was not blinking, it was on constantly (as I thought it should be). What's the deal with that blinking? I did nothing to the driver's door other than open it to sit in the car. Has this been happening all along and I'm just now noticing it? Any help is much appreciated.

It means that you need to reset the windows. To do that, hold the switch down for about 30 seconds, and then pull it up and hold for about 5 seconds. Do this with the passenger-side switch and the sunroof as well, if necessary. They all need to be reset when you unplug the car from the battery.
So that's why the one window didn't work when mine was delivered. The dealer just started messing with it and it worked.
Love the avatar, Boomba. Glad to hear this was an easy fix and you didn't mess something up with the electrical system.
Muchas gracias for the tip Basilisk. I'll have to go outside on my lunch and try it out. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Thanks for compliment on the avatar Camel!

ok, quick question ... is the procedure to reset the sunroof and the other window the same?
From what I remember off the top of my head, it's basically the same -- you hold the switch down in one direction for 30 seconds, and then rock back to the other position and hold it there for 5 seconds or so...
I gotta give props to Basilisk for helping me out on this one. I had to try to reset the windows a couple of times each, but it did work (most likely human error the first time around). Thanks again!
Maybe I need to reset the moonroof, When I press and hold the button to open it all the way, it goes about 1/3 of the way open and stops. I have to re-push the button and hold it to open the sunroof the rest of the way. Should it open all the way with one push/hold?

It's normal. My Camry does the same thing.

No, thats normal. It has a few natural stopping points during opening, and closing.. Nothing wrong there!
That stopping point is where the Scion engineers found the best mix of airflow and wind noise.
I'm having a problem with my windows as well. I recently installed my system in my tc, now I can't control the passenger window with the driver side door. I can still open it from the passenger side tho. Also, I use to be able to click the window one time and the windows would go down automatically... now I have to hold the switch. Anyone have any ideas how I can get the driver side switch to control the passenger window.

Thanks

Jeremy
Thanks Plissken... my windows now function normally. For a minute... I thought I broke something.

This is my first hatchback.... I took my old system out of my Honda Accord... and put it in my new tC... and it sounds 20 times better...

Thanks

Jeremy

How did you fix this?
