Nope, but you can get a Scion Bazooka harness for like $30 from http://www.mcgeorgeparts.com - the install is plug and play from the wiring standpoint - you unplug your HU, plug the harness, then plug the stock harness connector into the sub harness. Worst part is running the wires, and I have PDFs with how to do it, so let me know if you need em.

Zolitz, school me here brother.......is the stock sub harness just laying around in back of the HU if you dont have the bazooka option from the factory?

Does anyone know if I could just request that the dealer install the Xb tube instead of the Tc sub? I'm kidding myself if I think that I'll ever a) attempt to install myself, b)trust my one vaguely electronics competent friend to do it, or c) go buy one aftermarket. However, if the stock radio sounds anything like it did in the test driver that I was in, I'm going to want to get it (though I'm told that you have to mess with the settings to get that to sound good).

The only think that is putting me off of the TC sub is the whole spare tire, cargo area thing. My understanding is that the tube is easily movable--though correct me if I'm wrong. I don't really mind spending the money, overpriced as it may be, if I can get it all done at once.

my suggestion would be to play around with the setting before adding the woofer. I just got my tc yesterday, and picked the right sound for me, and I definitely will not be getting the sub. For most people, the stock stereo should be more than enough, and it's bassy too. Hold the SSP button down till the "car" setting shows up on the screen, then change the setting from tC to either xA or xB, for me both sounded pretty good, and MUCH better than the tC setting. Then I pushed the SSP button to change the setting to "hear" or "feel", don't remember which one, but both were also better than the initial setting of the system. If after you play with it, and you're still not getting enough out of it for yourself, then I'd opt in for the bazooka. The thing is, the one that's made for the tC supposedly fits nicely in the rear well of the trunk, but the tube for the xa and xb will just take up already limited trunk space. Thats just my .02

Thanks--that's probably how I'm going to go--I was concerned, though, because it sounded like crap when I test drove it--worse than stock setups I'm used to, and I'm hardly an audiophile.

But I've lived with stock radio in every car I've driven before--I'm sure it won't suddenly be inadequate now just because I have more discretionary income in my elder years. I probably would have just gotten the Tc sub--but for what I've read about people's difficulty getting to the spare tire.

But hey, I'm just excited to have a CD player--my last car just had a cassette. (RIP '89 Ford escort). Fortunately, I've talked myself down from satellite radio (considering I'll only be driving on weekends, pretty much). My big audio splurge will be the overpriced cd changer--which actually makes sense for me, since I've been known to have the passenger seat covered with various tapes or CDs (in rental cars).

Thats cool, yeah when i first turned on the stereo in my tC I thought to myself that it's gotta be better than this, b/c of all the "premium pioneer audio" hoopla, so I played around with it a bit, and got it to my favorite setting, now it sounds great.

i didn't know that you could hold down the SSP button and choose the tc, xa, or xb car setting. that is really cool. i'm going to play with it.
