How is the bass tube that you can buy? Is it worth it? I mean I plan to purchase an aftermarket stereo, but that may be a little down the road. i'm just curious to know what people think of it.

sorry to ask, but what is a bass tube? I've never heard of this term. Are you refering to the Bazooka sub? If so, most ppl will say that it sucks and is a waste of money, but me, im not hardcore, and don't like so much bass that you cant hear the song, and + if i were to buy an aftermarket set up id have to pay for it =) the bazooka sub gets loud enough and it fits nicely in the trunk and is already wired for me so =)
yeah bass tube = bazooka sub
it seems like theres a TON of different opinions about this sub on the forums. My best advice, would be to go to a dealer and check it out! Thats about all the useful info I can offer.......best of luck - T
Bazooka tubes are the same basic size as ur stock speakers in the doors and arent much better for deep bass. If thats what ur looking for, get a real subwoofer and amp.
I got a quote on a pretty nice sub and amp, that wouldn't even take up tooo much room in my trunk, and I think it was about $500.00.

So, you can still get nice aftermarket stuff for at or near the same cost of the factory set-up.
they are weak from what i've heard get some aftermarket and get it in a custom inclosure...
For 500 bucks you can get a sub, box and amp thats twice as hot as the bazooka. My $.02
word.
Oh yeah, just to mention it......the installer I went to for my quote said they could put the amp in the extra compartment in the trunk (near the spare tire). He said he doesn't like putting the amps on the boxes b/c you have to unwire everything if you want to take the box out (ie: need the room if you're going on a trip or something).

Just wanted to suggest that, if anyone is looking for a place to put the amp. Also, if someone breaks in....unless they take the time to trace the wires all the way, who would think to look there for your $300 amp? Hehe.
I would now, after reading that! -=D
Aftermarket Aftermarket Aftermarket.

Much better boom for the buck.

I would totally agree. If you want to get the Bazooka the tC gets a 10" and it fits rather nicely of to the right side of the trunk. I really does sound alright. If it were me I would get and AFTERMARKET sub and amp. I think you would be more happy with the results.

It would really depend on what kind of statement you are trying to make with your audio. If you are like Quadinscion (not saying that what you want is bad)
, then you would want the best and loudest boom because that would be your thing (which is perfectly alright). So you would go aftermarket. But, if you are like me and kind of on the more conservative side, you would most likely get the bazooka sub made for the tC just because of how well it fits, the cost, and the acceptance that its not gonna shake and boom etc. I would just want an enhancement to my bass but not an overwhelming amount of it. I plan on getting the bazooka sub becuase I feel that it's worth the money if 100W is all you want. I used to have a system in a car I had in the past which cost me 700 for just 300 W on two 10"s.
I had my fill of loud bass and im just older I guess.

yeah, I agree. If you're looking for something to just fill in the lower end of the music you listen to, in order to save your stock speakers from the stress of bass... the stock Bass Tube will do. But if you're looking for a full system with the kind of bass that wakes up your neighbors from a few blocks away, go aftermarket. There are many more options when it comes to after market systems. Just keep in mind its not just Sub and Amp. Its also wiring kit and things like that. And kinda off topic, does anyone know if we have a pre-drilled hole in our firewall?

If no one else can tell you, I'll let you know on Sunday after I get my Viper installed...
Yea we do. Its on the passenger side firewall.
Cool, thanks QuadinSnion. Is it large enough to fit a 4 or 2 gauge wire through??
