Bad Paint

I got my tC 2 weeks ago and the first weekend I had it I noticed some "foggy paint". I'm guessing that will be covered under my warrantee, but I was wondering...

Is it possible to ask the dealer for a discount towards a new paint job instead of getting this one fixed? What does everyone think, would a dealer be willing to do that?

Reason I want a new paint job is because I have a black cherry pearl, and its a great color, but I really really like the indigo ink pearl. I'm willing to put 200 for the new paint job if the dealer accepts my proposal.

If anyone has had experience with bad paint, please let me know!

Thanks.

You suggest that idea and they will really look at you like you are insane.
man....

I was hoping for good news, oh well... Does anyone have experience with bad paint though?
They might be able to buff it up a bit. I was only referring to the option of them repainting the car.
it might be some moisture under the clear coat. in the summer there usually is no problem with that.. it should dry out and clear up... try a hair blow dryer. Or, your service dept. can hit it with a heat gun.
(if it is the same thing that I have seen on a few cars, and really it is not a problem.)

this information came from our service dept. I have told various customers that if it doesn't clear up bring it back and we'll fix it. Nobody has come back.
Thanks for the info, i'll let my dealer handle it though.
What mori said. There is even a TSB on it I think. I remember reading about it on techinfo.toyota.com.
have your dealer work it out or wait for it to work it's self out.
crap. double post

i suppose this will help my post count....
I had the same problem in Minnesota . Had it for a month waiting for it to disappear before I took it to body shop where they placed it under utra violet heat lamps. It disappeared in 10 minutes. Same color Black Cherry Pearl...
