Air Conditioner... is it cold?

Ok... I've heard people talk about not having cold A/Cs because Scion had put too little refridgerant into the car. Supposedly this only happened to the first batch or two of the tCs.

I was unable to check whether the A/C in the tC was cold enough or not cause we've had a pretty mild summer until yesterday. It was blazing hot (for me... that would start at the low 80s. ok... i'm a heat weakling
)! But anyways... I rolled down all the windows and opened the sun roof to let all the hot air out of the car... then I turned on the A/C and let that run for a while when I was driving. After a few minutes, I rolled up the windows and closed the sun roof and let the A/C blast. I let that go for a while and well it was still very hot in the car... the A/C didn't really feel cold. I don't know if its just me or if it is supposed to be like that. Have you guys experienced the same thing??? How long did it take for your cars to cool off??

Mine's the same as basilisk's. wicked cold in under 5 minutes.
Mine's wicked cold in like 10 seconds on a wickedly cold day...

I haven't experienced wicked cold just yet.
My AC is not cold at all. I even blasted it for a few minutes thinking that it needed to get warmed up. No such luck. The day wasn't even hot — I was just trying it out. After 4 years, my 2000 Cavalier's AC worked better than the tC's. Of course, that's the only thing it did better.
Are you all aware that turning the fan up to a higher setting tends to actually make it feel less cold? I've found (in every car I've ever checked) that the middle settings work better than the highest ones...

Yes.

Turning the fan up doesn't turn the A/C up...all it does is move more air over the same amount of cooling.

Thanks for the explanation of why -- I made several attempts earlier, but couldn't put it into words that would've made sense to anyone other than me.

no problems with the a/c... cold in the car in about 2-3 minutes.. even if it's 90 degrees outside.. in 5 minutes the side windows are fogging over outside..since it's so cold I think i saw reindeer hanging out in my backseat..

You have a better A/C than me....and a bigger back seat.
