I seem to remember hearing this before, but not really buying it.
I rolled past 5000mi yeasterday with no changes in the cars behavior, but today as I pulled out of work, the car seemed to have quite a lot more pep than usual and while it's still there, the delay in throttle response seems less severe. The odometer read 5054mi
I'm pretty sure I'm not imagining this. The only other thing I can think of is that I filled my fuel tank yesterday and considering the recent trouble with ConocoPhillips fuel, maybe I ended up with a bad tank?
If you haven't heard about the fuel problem, here's a link to ConocoPhillips website:

Any thoughts?

When toyotoa engines start getting a few thousand miles on them, they actually start breaking in so if by what you mean "less throttle delay" means faster acceleration, then its just the engine breaking in and putting out all the power it has. As you add more miles to a a japanese engine, it starts breaking in and performing better and thats a good thing. Thats why this engine will go 400,000+ miles with no problems. I;d say by the time you get to 10,000 miles, the engine will be fully broken in and at full power. Pz out.

was it a cool day without much humidity relative to recent weather? you might've been getting more dense air in the mix. a good cool day will give any car a little more GU&G.

I think a visit to a qualified psychologist may be in order.

Just got back to this thread. Strange tC behavior is over.
UpInSmoke, you're out of your mind.
Maybe it was all in my head.
Good to see you agree with us about him...

could have been psychological, could have also been the gnomes being better fed... who knows?
