2007 Oil Consumption Issues?

So, I'm looking to buy a TC, 2007, around 90,000 miles. I've already seen the car and driven it, and I'm having my mechanic inspect it soon. Now, while I was looking at common problems with the TC, I found that excessive oil consumption is a common issue, especially on the 2007 models. From what I've heard, the problem usually surfaces at around 110,000 miles, and it can cost thousands of dollars to repair.

So have you or other TC owners you know encountered this issue on a 2007 car? I want to get an idea of how common this problem is.

I have an 07 at 129k and I burn a quart of oil in 500 miles. It's gunna cost me $200 to fix it. That with me fixing it myself, not a shop doing it.

Ours seized at 90K miles. It seems the issue is increasingly a problem after around 60K miles.
Hi tcpandaa. What cause the tc to burn oil over the average amount and how do you fix that issue?
Hi Dan_.I own a 2007 tc and it's at 134000+ miles on it and it's running pretty smooth.. I changed my oil on July and I never have any issues with it other than parts wear and tear..I don't know if it's because I just drive the car and then check the oil lever but I wasn't seeing and on the dip stick...normally you should wait until the oil settle before checking the level of the oil..
250K miles, and yes she drinks oil, a quart every 3 tanks of gas. But still runs strong, trusted daily driver.

Scion/Toyota has a recall advisory for Excessive Oil Consumption, but dealer deemed 5 quarts added between changes to be acceptible.

Every mile is a bonus at this point, so I live with adding oil every couple weeks.
I have an 07 scion tc n it has 130,000 miles on it and I kinda see that it use up a little oil after about 3 months of oil change.. A mechanic said it normal in cars with that much mileage so I don't know what to say...
Hi tcpandaa.. I have an 07 tc and I found out that it burned some oil over a period of time.. Whats the reason for this? Hit me up I really want to know.
I have a 2007 Tc. The engine was removed from my car by the dealer to correct the engine oil consumption. Prior to the rebuild, the oil needed refill every month. After the rebuild, the oil remains until I have it changed as recommended by the manufacturer. Torrence CA wrote me to take it in to a dealer to run a test on it to find out whether or not my Scion was one with the consumption problem, the oil was tapped until the parts were received and I did not have to pay one cent except aggravation with the dealer left a bolt 3 or 4 inches out of the transmission, returned car with a 6 mos old battery dead and now i want to know when the dealer had the engine out, should the motor mounts have been inspected and if faulty should I have been informed?

Mine burns about a quart each tank. 300miles or so. What is the issue? I've noticed crankcase pressure seems high. Replacing cpv tomorrow
My 2007 TC burns about 1/2 to a quart a day. I love the car, but this crazy. I have yet to hit 200k.

That's worse than mine!!! I replaced the cpv valve and it helped but still using oil. Dealer won't warranty the motor due to miles. 226,000... I tried lol
