I was really bored, so I thought I'd berate you with more stock tC pictures!

Here's my car... Nautical Blue '06 model, manual transmission of course. It's 99.99% stock. The only mod is all the dirt that's on it (and the iPod stereo I didn't ask for!).

In the words of Eddnog... click to zoom in!

EDIT 2/23/06:

I snapped a pic of my Alta Performance Mini antenna (sans sticker) for those who wanted to see it. Click for a much larger closeup:

I also took a few pics of my interior blue LED swap. They didn't turn out very well, but here's a couple nonetheless. The first is a picture of the dash with the front dome and rear dome lights on (I left the map lights stock) and before I installed the cubby light. They're a lot brighter than this picture hints at:

This is of the UV/Blacklight I installed in the cubby:

That's not a very good picture at all. It basically looks like your average blacklight with that dark purple, fuzzy glow. Not very bright, but what can you expect from a blacklight? I've also go a blue one to go in there, but for now I'm sticking with the blacklight.

Hopefully I'll be ordering springs soon. I just need to decide on a set and get them ordered and installed. I might also get 35% tint installed at the same time, depending on what it will all cost together. So, stay tuned for that!

Those are some nice, dry, non-snow-covered roads you got there... *twitch*... lol

*takes a deep breath*

Nice looking ride tho

i've kinda forgotten what roads look like minus snow...

love the blue though... lower that, will ya?

EDIT: is it just me, or do all non-lowered tCs look like they're on stilts?

[shame] I haven't lowered mine yet either
[/sarcasm]

I plan on mass-modding once all of this DAMN SNOW MELTS!!!1

hehe

The weather has been kinda crazy here lately. One day it's snowing, the next day it's in the 60's. Damn global warming! It was actually really cold and windy when I took that picture.

And springs is probably the first mod I'll do... I just don't know which ones to get. I'm leaning towards the TRD, but I'm afraid I'll get them and the drop won't be enough to suit me. Then again, I'm afraid if I get S-Techs or Goldlines or something else that the drop will be *too* much. Coilovers is a bit too intensive for me, so that's not an option either. I guess I could always swap springs later if I don't like them... I just hate to pay so much to get them installed.

Thanks for the comments all... and Happy New Year!

Our weather's hardly better than yours here in and near NYC (though not quite as turbulent as my emotions, but that's off topic).

The TRD springs are more than 1.25"; we've got a thread going on about that in here. Somewhere. I'm actually wishing they weren't quite this low at this point (moreso the rear than the front, as I prefer the rear to be a tiny bit higher than the front for that more aggressive stance).

I've read bits and pieces of that thread. Someone told me that the TRD springs are actually made by Eibach (I don't know if this is true or not). And this catalog I have lists the Eibach's at 1.4" drop front and back. That's not a huge step from 1.25" but it is a bit more. Maybe TRD just got the numbers wrong? I'd guess it's just an estimation, and they probably really can't know what exact height the springs will settle to on each vehicle.

Hmm... maybe there's some sort of bushings or risers you could stick in there to bump the rear up some. I watch a lot of racing, and they're always adding or removing "spring rubbers" to stiffen up or free up the suspension. I'm not exactly sure what they are or how they work, but I'd imagine they might make the springs a little taller in addition to stiffer? I suck @ car knowledge... sorry.

As to my preferences... I love the look of the Super White in this thread (for the most part... I won't get into that here
). It's on Goldline springs, which is a 2" (?) drop and it doesn't look all that low. But then I see this car which is on S-Tech's and looks too low for my tastes (especially in the 4th pic down). I've seen different numbers for the S-Techs... some places say "approximately" 1.5", while others say it's 2.4" front and 2.0" rear. That's a huge difference, so I dunno which to believe (I'd go witht he 2.4" and 2.0" judging by the car at that link).

I'm fairly new to modifying cars (the only mods I wanted to make to my VW Golf was a battleaxe through the engine block), so I just dunno what I want. I'll probably get the TRD's and give them a good whril... if I really don't like them, I'll swap out for something else a few months down the road.

It's really hard to tell anything from pictures. I think the wheels that are on the car have a large impact on how the ride height looks as well. It's tricky to figure out what you want.

Btw, I'm looking for some rims to duplicate the look on that SW if anyone has suggestions. Those are Axis Phin's I believe, but they only come in 19" and 20", and that's just too big, and they're a little more expensive than I'd like. I'd prefer 17" or 18". I'm still not sure about the offset business or how wide I'd like for a wheel/tire package... so that's up in the air too I guess.

Thanks for the help, all.

Just a quick swirl effect.
I dunno why I bothered anyways, they're just 30-day temporary tags.

Nice pic yo.

I have the same car aswell, but mine has the pedestal Spoiler & i regret getting it, but oh well. Mine is 96% stock
Sorry to dig this thread up without posting new pics of my car... but... I just had to say w0oT cause I got my Alta Performance Mini Antenna in the mail today and it looks sweet. I knew it was going to be small (4"), but I laughed when I opened the package and saw it. And almost cried because I paid $27 for it lol. Fits the tC perfectly, physically and aesthetically, though.

My mom's got my camera, so I'll maybe get some pics of it later. I was just excited and wanted to share.. and I guess this is kinda my first mod, if you can consider an antenna swap a mod.

Alright... back about your business.

Friend of mine has a Nautical Blue with TYC Tailights; they look reall good on them.
I don't think I would like them. I actually love the stock tails. Especially on NB. The contrast of the bright red on the blue is just cool. And the little round reverse light is nice... I think they're a great design.

Anyways... for the moment, I've got my sights set on new wheels + tires and/or sport springs... and later some tint. Once I've got all that knocked out, I'm not sure what I'll do after. I like it clean and simple. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

NB looks a LOT better with a smoked 3rd taillight. Even red vinyl over it makes it look that much better.

Where'd you get your Alta antenna from? I wanna see a pic.. I have a short 3.5" one on mine.. it's like a little nub.. get no reception, too

eBay. It was 27 bucks and like 8 to ship. They actually had 2 different auctions up.. one was 27 for a Scion tC version and the other was 29 for the Mini... I emailed and asked them.. they said it was the same exact antenna and to just order the cheaper one lol.

The Alta one is 4"... they claim no reception loss, but I haven't tried it out yet, just screwed it on the car (perfect fit.. no gap to speak of). It's all aluminum I think.

I'll try to take some pics later... I dunno when I'll be seeing my mom again, and she has the camera.

EDIT: I don't think I'd smoke the tails... I might like a red overlay on the 3rd brake though, if that's what you were talking about. It would have to match perfectly though... I'm too picky about those things.

I only have listened to the radio a little bit w/ the Alta antenna and it was just as good as stock. Make sure you take that goofy ass sticker off the bottom of the antenna.
I got mine from Axshop.com for $10 shipped.. horrid reception, but that's why I listen to CD's all the time anyway.

I took the antenna out of the box... removed it from it's packaging... and immediately yanked that sticker off.

I don't listen to the radio much either... MP3 CD's galore. I occaisionally do though, so I didn't want to sacrifice reception too much.

Anyone can just click the link in my sig and there are plenty of pics of my car w/the Alta Mini antenna sans stupid ####ty sticker.
