04 Tiburon (tC related)
Ok, I posted a while back in the racing forum that a friend of mine was getting a hyundai tiburon soon. Well, she got it tonight. I gave her a ride down to her dealership and waited FOREVER.. but she eventually signed everything and got the keys. Yeah, I got a few looks from people with the tC.. hehe. I even had a dealer ask me if I was looking to trade up. I was kinda mean, but I said "you mean down right?" ANYWAY, before I get too OT, all I know is that its an 04 5speed with the larger stock spoiler, and she says it's a v6. Do you guys think I could take her as is? I'm completely stock with the exception of my 18"s that I'd have on in the spring/summer. I don't think I can with my 16"s as is. They have such terrible dry road traction. Btw, her car sits SO MUCH LOWER than mine does. I really want to lower mine now. I now understand why it rocks. I hate sitting up so high in my car like it is right now. Anyway, she's gona give me a ride around in it tonight (hopefully go parking.. hehe

Besides everything else that happened, (and I hope she never finds this forum/thread), I'm SOOOOO happy I bought a toyota. Omfg.. I would never own that car. Everything about it just screamed cheap. And no, I never started this thread to bash on hyundai. I know they're more on the econo-side of the car spectrum, but if you're going to make a performance car.. make it a little luxurious too? At any rate, I won't get into specifics as that isn't what this thread is about. She only stepped into it hard twice. Both times I was kinda surprised. The power isn't there till about 3000rpms (or so it seemed), but when it was pulling, it did feel like it had more oomph than our car. Oh and btw, I don't feel so bad anymore. She turns 3000 @ 70mph too!

That makes me feel a little better about my decision too. heh. I see 2 or 3 Tiburons on the 6 block drive to work every day, and I always notice how it looks just a bit sportier than the tC. I've never really questioned my decision to get the tC, but now I can feel that much better about my car and myself.
Are there a ton of noobies at the track though? I don't want to look like an idiot running like 19's and 20's, lol. And I need to find one around here. I think the closest one is like 2 hours from where I live.

Ok. So gloria shows up to work today like an hour before I'm suppose to leave just to pick up some things at her desk. I talked to her for a few minutes, and then punched out when she was leaving. I knew if I was right there with her she'd go for the bait, and she did. We both got on 481S (joining highway), I'm right behind her, tailgating a bit to see what she does, and mind you I'm in 3rd, and I can tell she's in a lower-than-normal gear b/c her exhaust was so loud. She guns it, I get over to the left lane (only 2 lane highway), and I max out 3rd. She starts to pull away for 2 seconds, and then when I shift into 4th I'm gaining on her hard. I was at 90 when I was ahead of her by at least 2 or 3 car lenghts, and I stopped once I shifted into 5th at 100 (sorry snow tires!!!) and braked. What's she do? She cuts right around me and keeps going! DAMN WOMEN!!
Does this prove anything? no. PERHAPS she "wasn't trying", I won't know till I see her tomorrow. I'm not about to try and get her off the line though, not until I put my real feet back on. But yeah, woot! What a rush.
I hope she's not mad at me though.. ya never know how women are gona react to anything
