where do everyone take their TC to have the oil change? ever since i had the car i have always taken it to the dealer to have the oil change.
one more question, why do the dealer use 50w30 oil? another question, how many of you do your own oil change and what type of oil do you use? I would like to start doing my own oil change. thanks in advance. |

5-30 is what we use, not 50-30. my 05 owners manual specified 5w30. is it different for the 07?
i do almost all my own work on my cars, so yes, i change my oil myself as well. always have. i run Mobil1 10w-30 Full Synthetic.

I usually use Mobil 1 5w-30, although the last time I went to get the oil (I change it myself) They were out of 5w-30 so I subsituted 10w-30 per the Owners Manual.
It was the lesser of two evils, because I needed to get the oil changed that weekend or it wasn't going to happen for another 1000 miles. 5w-30 would have been much better especially with this cold snap we've been having. *Fixed spelling of Mobil |

This is the table in the TSB: OIL ENGINE ILSAC GF4 SAE 5W-20 AZ series GR series JZ series MZ series NZ series RZ series UZ series VZ series 1ZZ-FE 2TR-FE ILSAC GF4 SAE 0W-20 (Beginning with 2006 MY) 2AZ-FE Camry 2AZ-FE Solara 2AZ-FE Highlander 2AZ-FE RAV4 (ACA3#) So running 5W-20 is OK for all tCs. And there is NO Mobile Oil Company. It's MOBIL. MOBILE is a city in Alabama and has nothing to do with oil.
