its still not turning on. i checked the fuse and poked the reset hole. the crimp caps seemed pretty tight. my guess is that theres something weird about the red and yellow wires. i dont know if i should cross match it or what. lol

Doesn't make any sense. HU installs are easy. Match up wires (yellow to yellow; red to red; black to black; green w/ strip to green w/stripe).

It's got to be the HU. Maybe it's just fried.

It must be. I mean it's literally as simple as matching up colors. And crimping ain't hard, especially with the twisty-cap ones you used.

If you don't have any unused wires coming from the HU-harness that aren't power antenna wires, it has to be the HU.

well guys, im sending the HU back. the guy at the car audio gave me an attitude so i decided not to do business with him. he wanted me to drop off my car and was rude when i was explaining to him on the phone. he was also saying that there might not be an accessory wire access or whatever but i dont think thats true, given that i tried to turn on the car and the HU still wouldnt turn on. he said maybe i fried it and stuff which, i really dont think i did since i checked the fuses.

anyways, i appreciate all the help i got from u guys

So you're just getting a replacement from Crutchfield?

Personally I don't work (well) with audio shops locally, unless the shop has a 4.5/5 star reputation for 99%+ of all the work they offer they usually are cheap, with both labor/prices/knowledge of correction professional installations. Work with Crutchfield directly and call them, their prices are close to MSRP for a reason, the fact they offer great customer support after purchases through them.
